Mini Long Basket

This little basket would make a great treat at each place setting on the Easter table.  They are much smaller than the picture makes them look.  The basket without the handle is only 1-1/4" tall and 4" wide at the top - the widest part. 

Here is the link for this mini basket template.  There are two pieces - the basket and the liner. 

The supplies we used:

• card stock - Chocolate Chip
• DSP - Sweet Pea paper stack
• other - Scallop Trim Border punch, Boho Blossoms punch, brad

The small flower is made by punching three of the largest flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch.  They have all been scrunched and held together with a brad in the middle.

Luck of the Irish...

We are sharing this St. Patrick's Day card early so that you will have plenty of time to make some of your own AND we love this pattern!  It was dug out of our files from several years ago, maybe 8 or more.  We have included the pattern here. View this photo  Scroll down for more pictures and our supply list.  And, the answer to the question - yes, this is an A2 card so it does fit into a regular envelope.

Here is a close-up of the small clover that was made with the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch. The stem is just a sliver of card stock.  We sponged the card's edges (and some of the dots) with Garden Green ink.  We used the grosgrain ribbon at the top, as the closure.  You can also use velcro or even a small thin magnet.  The ribbon was threaded through two holes that were punched at the top of the shamrock.

    

The next picture shows a side view of the card.  You can see that it really is a free-standing card.

 

  

Pawsitively Prints Note Pad

We decided we needed to use the Designer Series Paper, Pawsitively Prints, which can be found in the Occasions Mini catalog on page 40 - there isn't a picture.  It was one of those papers that we had bought but hadn't used yet.  The colors and prints are very "springy" - is that a word?

We made this note pad cover to hold our new 2-1/2" x 8" note pads.  If you would like to make your own note pad cover,  Download Note Pad pattern here.  The cover base is Pretty in Pink card stock and the DSP is Pawsitively Prints.  We also used Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla card stock.  "Notes" is made with the Big Shot alphabet die, Go Go Boots.

The note pad cover is embellished with the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch, ribbon, linen thread and buttons.  Of course, most everything has been sponged.

Valentine Tote

This is one of the projects we made in club last month.  Once again, we used the Sending Love DSP and Pretty in Pink card stock.   This tote is a smaller version of the original tote found here. Original Tote  

We embellished our tote with pink brads, ribbon, and buttons.  The layered hearts were cut with Nestabilities. 

Chocolate Easter Bunny

This brings back such wonderful childhood memories.  How many of you grew up eating those fun chocolate bunnies that looked just like this stamp?  I know they still make them BUT, they just aren't as good as they were in the (what my kids would say) "old days".  LOL

I created this card for a shoebox swap that my team did this past Saturday.  The Chocolate Bunny stamp can be found on page 43 of the Occasions Mini catalog.  The DSP is also from the Occasions Mini and is part of the DSP paper stack called Sweet Pea.  I LOVE these two colors!!  The chocolate chip polka dots were created using a pencil eraser, Chocolate Chip ink and Whisper White card stock.  The ribbon is the 1-1/4" Chocolate Chip Striped Grosgrain.  The accordion medallion was made by cutting a 1" x 12" piece of DSP and then scoring every 1/4".  Apply a small circle of card stock to the back and front adhering with a large pop up glue dot. Additional items used were the Pinking Hearts Border punch,  1/4" white grosgrain ribbon that I colored with Taken With Teal chalk, buttons, a chocolate pompom and hemp.

Old Fashioned Ice Skate Card

Even though we wish it was spring and warm, it is still January and very cold.  Here in Kansas, the kids are still ice skating and sledding and enjoying the snow and ice.  Where we live, there is a small ice skating rink smack dab in the middle of town, surrounded by shops and great restaurants.  You can sit inside and eat and drink and watch the kids (and some adults) from inside a warm and cozy place.  Thus, the inspiration for this card.

This card is made with Very Vanilla card stock. The skate blades and trim are embossed with silver.  The snowflake is made with Very Vanilla card stock and the Jumbo Snowflake punch.  Everything has been sponged with Creamy Caramel.  The skate is laced with seven silver eyelets and Linen Thread.  The card has been embellished with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, a rhinestone brad and a small button with additional Linen Thread.

Big Shot Wednesday

Big Shot Wednesday - Week #3 Join in the Cheer

This little tote can be made for many things but we filled ours with homemade bath salts.  And, yes, we will be giving you the recipe at the end.  It is surprisingly simple!  We used only the "Love" from the die but cut it twice - once from Chocolate Chip and once from Regal Rose card stock.  The pink DSP is from the Simply Scrappin' kit, Love Sparkles.  We used 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon.  The chipboard heart has been inked with Craft Whisper White and then "glitzed" with Dazzling Diamond glitter. 

This tote is two pieces.  The outside piece is 4" x 8-1/2"; scored at 3-3/4" and 4-3/4".  Use the word window punch to create the "handles."

The inside "box" is 5-1/2" x 6".  Score the 6" side at 2-1/2" and 3-1/2".  Score the 5-1/2" side at 1" and 4-1/2".  Cut to the score line at the 2-1/2" and 3-1/2" mark - this will only be a one inch cut.  This will allow you to fold up and glue the box together.  Then glue the box into the outside tote.

Bath Salts

There are NO exact measurements.  Pour Epsom Salts into a bowl.  Add what ever essential oil scent you like and favorite food coloring.  Ours is pink and peppermint flavored.  We scooped some into a cello bag and tied with Chocolate Chip ribbon. 

Sweet Treat Hanger

The inspiration for this fun little "sweet treat hanger" came from one we saw on "Creations by Patti".  The finished size is 6-1/2" x 3-1/4" plus the tab.  We used Real Red card stock and Certainly Celery DSP for the card. The letters J and Y were cut out of Real Red using the Big Shot die Serif Essentials. The holly leaves were made by punching the large oval  with Old Olive and then free-hand cutting the rest.  We did score down the center and highlight the edges with a white gel pen.  We also sponged with Old Olive.  The berries are Real Red 1/2" circles.  White highlights were added to these as well. 

Here are a few more details:  6-1/2" x 3-1/4" Real Red c/s; 6-1/2"x 3" Certainly Celery DSP; 2-5/8" square in Real Red c/s; round tab punch in Old Olive; 16" Artichoke 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon; 2 jumbo eyelets; sweet treat cup; Christmas M

Punch a 1-3/4" circle in the center of the DSP.  At the top of the DSP, punch a small portion of the small oval - about a quarter of it.  To attach the Sweet Treat cup, DO NOT remove the adhesive, apply your own adhesive (we used Tombow) to the top of the rim and glue to the back of the DSP.  Attach the Old Olive tab to the top of the 2-5/8" square of Real Red.  Lay this over the back of the Sweet Treat cup - DO NOT GLUE.  Apply adhesive to the back of the DSP leaving space around the Real Red square.  You do NOT want to glue the square as this is what moves up and down to let the candy out without tearing up the hanger.  Attach the Real Red back piece.  Don't forget you need to punch a 1-3/4" circle in the Real Red back as well so that when you slide the tab out, the candy can come out the back (and you can refill it).

We filled our cup with Christmas M&Ms - they are white with red and green designs - Christmas trees, packages, words, etc.

Frosty the Snowman & Oh, Christmas Tree!

These two cards are made using the same shape.  We saved this pattern from an old Paper Crafts (we think).  We've included the pattern!  The snowman is made with Whisper White card stock.  The hat is a punched square and then a small piece is cut for the brim.  The holly is free-hand cut.  The berries, eyes and mouth are 1/8" circles.  The carrot nose is also free-hand cut from Only Orange card stock.  His scarf is Red Gingham ribbon. The Christmas tree is cut from Green Galore card stock that has been embossed with an embossing folder and the Big Shot.  The "swirls" have been glittered.  It has been embellished with red buttons threaded with Linen Thread, and a "banner" from Real Red grosgrain ribbon and a star glittered with Dazzling Diamonds. (And, as with most of our projects, they were both sponged!)
