Happy Easter "Sweetie"

This "sweet" little miss is a digi stamp from Pure Innocence designer, Heather Ellis.  You can find her digi images here. These types of stamps are all the rage and can be easily printed on any color card stock or patterned paper.  As a matter of fact, if you want to hop over to our new blog, Paper Fashions, Etc. when you are finished here, you will see all the fun ideas and examples we have to share using digi elements there as well.

 
Supplies include:

• Card Stock - Naturals Ivory, Always Artichoke, Blushing Bride, and Baja Breeze from Stampin' Up!
• patterned egg paper is some I had on hand.
• Black Onyx Memento and Creamy Caramel for sponging 
• Copic Markers were used to color her dress, flowers and the egg
• Ribbon, twine and a button were used as embellishments
• Tools - Paper Piercer

Two more birthday Cards!

Gayla recently celebrated her birthday and these were two of the many cards she received. 

The first one is from her friend, Marilyn.  She used Pacific Point card stock with the matching Celebrations patterned paper.  Of course, she is the Build a Cupcake punch and Create a Cupcake stamp set.

 

The inside was just as fun as the outside!

 
The next card is from Peggy and she used Crumb Cake card stock paired with Play Date pattern paper.  Look at the fun flower embellishment she added!

Freebie Friday - Colored Easter Eggs

There's still time to make some of these colorful, fun, dyed Easter eggs!

To create these eggs, we used some of our stamping supplies.

First, gather your supplies:  sticker paper (we used Avery labels), punches, dye, eggs

 
Next, simply punch circles for polka dots or small flowers from your sticker paper.  We found that the stickers adhere to room temperature eggs the best.

 
Now, place your eggs in the dye and allow to sit until the desired color is achieved.

 
Pat the egg dry with a paper towel and then peel off stickers.

 
After you peel off all the stickers, you have a fun decorated egg!

 
How fun and easy were these!  You can use any size or shape of punch that you desire!

Cupcakes, cupcakes, cupcakes...

eighteen to be exact.  This is the birthday card I created for my niece's (Haley) 18th birthday.  She loves purple (a K-State fan that I hope to convert:)). 

 
This card is made using the following supplies:  card stock - White & Concord Crush, In color DSP, Concord Crush 1/2" stitched ribbon, cupcake punch, retired stamp set, polka dot embossing folder.

Easter Blossoms

What a beautiful, soft springtime card; perfect for Easter or many other occasions. 

 

The supplies used for this card are:

• card stock - Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze
• stamps - Easter Blossoms
• other - Framed Tulip embossing folder, satin ribbon, Scallop Oval Nestabilities, white embossing powder

 

The center was cut out using Spellbinders Nestabilities.  The little girl is embossed with white embossing powder and then sponged around...soft and adorable.

Quilted Paper Art is Back!!

We thought it would be nice to add one more pattern to our Quilted Paper Art pattern collection.  With Easter just around the corner, we chose to create an oval-shaped pattern.  If you're new to our blog and haven't seen our other samples, you can click here to view the original post and other ideas here and here .

 

This card was kept simple but elegant.  You can see that we chose to use the oval shape as an egg.  We used four soft colors - Pretty In Pink. So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue.  Of course, you do not have to use this many colors.

Freebie Friday - A Fun Way to Recycle!

What a fun way to recycle your water bottles and use them for packaging!  Can you guess how we got all the goodies inside?  Can you guess how to get them out??

 

 Well, here go!  It's as simple as this...using an Exact-o knife, make a slit in the middle of the bottle.

 

Next, slide a pair of scissors in the slit and cut around the entire bottle - cutting the bottle in half.

 

Then, fill your bottle with your goodies.  We used Easter grass and eggs.

 

Next, seal the bottle back with clear packing tape.  Be sure to keep the bottle edges together straight.

 

Now it is time to decorate.  We cut 2 strips of patterned paper and scalloped one of them.  We glued them together.  These two strips are creating the belly band around the bottle.

 

 

 

Next, we stamped, cut out, and sponged a chocolate bunny.  We added a ribbon bow.

 

We decorated the lid by punching a circle from the patterned paper and added ribbon around the edge of the lid.
 

And, like we said, its as simple as that.  Notice, we did add a little extra Easter grass under our bunny.

 
Now, go and pull out all those empty water bottles and get to creating some fun projects.  Recycle, recycle, recycle!!  These make great projects for birthday party favors or how about a scouts' craft project!

Love Birds

One more great card idea from Patti O'Toole.  This card was made for Valentine's Day but what a great anniversary card as well.  The "love birds" are from the Valentine Defined set.  The patterned paper is from the Springtime Vintage set.

 

Notice what Patti did with the hearts and a small safety pin from Vintage Trinkets.  Very fun way to attach embellishments.

Freebie Friday - Candle Making

Candle making and there is no hot wax involved.  LOL

Today we are going to show you how to make your own paper candles.

 

Gather your supplies:  string, 3x3 patterned paper, skewer (something round), adhesive (we used Mono adhesive)

 

 Then, using the skewer roll the paper around it.  You are doing this to make the paper easier to roll.

 

 Next, run your Mono-Adhesive down the entire end.  Lay your string along this line of adhesive.

 

Keep rolling the entire length.  You will change the look of the candle by how tightly (or loosely) you roll your paper.  Of course, you can also change the look of these candles by changing the size of paper you start with.  You will run a line of Mono-Adhesive down this end as well to hold the candle closed.

 

There you have it....a fun way to create your own candles for any theme or color scheme.

Scallop Square Card....Sort of!!

At first glance, it appears this card, designed by Connie Hasselrick, is a regular scallop square-shaped card.  But that is only partially true. 

 
Connie did something we haven't done before.  See how she folded the card and then attached the scallop square piece to the inside of this square card. See the photo below.
