Love Impressions Heart Magnets

Do you want to use up some of those stacks of chipboard...how about heart magnets?

 

This picture shows them on one of our old vintage windows that we converted into this awesome, dry erase, magnetic and chalkboard display board.

 
These chipboard hearts have been covered with the Specialty Designers Series Paper, Love Impressions.

 
The magnets were embellished with ribbon, brads, buttons and some were stacked and layered on to each other.  You can use this same idea on any shape of chipboard.  How fun to make magnets for every occasion.

Heart-Shaped Pin Cushion

We created an adorable heart pin cushion with some of the mini heart tins we have for sale on Two Paper Divas.  This little tin was covered with Stampin' Up's Love Impressions Designer Series Paper, crocheted lace trim, 1/8" ribbon and Baker's Twine.  The pin cushion is covered with white fleece and embellished with a small red button.  We found red pins that really complete this project.

Perfect Pocket Package Tutorial

We have created a versatile five pocket holder that can be used for MANY fun things.  We are sharing a sewing-themed idea today.  The sample below uses Stampin' Up's Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper and the Sew Suite stamp set - both found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

You can see below that we added 3x3 note cards and a sewing-themed bingo card to two of our pockets.  More pictures included in the tutorial.

Freebie Friday Heart Treats

This "sweet" little project is just so quick and easy you'll want to make a bunch!

 

 

Gather your supplies.  You will need SU! Full Heart punch, a 1-3/8" square punch, card stock, patterned paper, scissors, glue, ribbon and a heart-shaped chocolate.  Yum!

Punch 2 squares and 2 hearts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next, score your square pieces at 5/8" and 7/8".  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Crease well using your bone folder.  They should look something like this.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next, glue these two pieces together forming the holder for your chocolate heart. (Keep in mind that this fits on the back of the heart.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now you are ready to glue your punched hearts to the front and back of the holder.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It should look similar to this.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now punch a hole in both sides of the heart and run your ribbon through them.  The ribbon will go over the top of the chocolate heart to help hold it in.

Simply tie the ribbon or enhance your treat with a personalized tag or sweet little message.

Vintage Valentine Box

Ok, so maybe the papers aren't real vintage looking but with a little sponging anything can become "vintage"!!

This box was created by covering a heart-shaped paper mache box with the Specialty DSP, Love Impressions.

 

The top of the box was decorated with some of our vintage hand-dyed ribbon, button, So Pretties' stick pin.  The side of the lid has been embellished with crocheted trim.

 

This box could be filled with candy or used as a gift box.  This heart box is just for your Valentine....it would be a great wedding, anniversary or even bridal shower gift box.

Pockets of Treasures, would you like to see...

another sample?  We finally had time to create a sample using the Pockets of Treasures tutorial that our friend Diane created.  The new stamp set, Nature Walk and new DSP, Botanical Gazette, created a completely different look for this sample.....

 

What a fun project!  This tutorial includes so many extra features that will allow many places for photos and journaling.

 

You can see that the paper is so beautiful that we chose NOT to embellish the front so we didn't cover up the paper.

 

 

Freebie Friday - Perfect Package

Today we'd like to share with you how to make this fun little pocket treat holder.  They are so quick, easy and very cute...  These work well for treats but they also work great on a card front or a scrapbook page to hold trinkets, journaling, etc.

 

Gather the following supplies:  one 6x6 piece of DSP and a bone folder!  That's it except for any embellishment your choose for the front.  Fold the 6x6 piece of DSP from corner to corner and crease well.

  

Next, fold each corner up and across so the tip lines up with the edge of the paper and the angle leaves a straight across the front.  Repeat for the other side.

  

Next, fold just the front layer of the top (the very top, not the two sides you just folded) down over the sides and again, crease really well. 

    
Now, holding it in the palm of one hand, put your fingers inside the pocket and push the front out a bit to open it up creating your pocket.

 

That's it!  Now embellish the front and fill with candy, a special piece of jewelery, money, trinkets, etc.

Favor It Favor Box

This fun favor box was created using a Papertrey template we couldn't resist.  We used the new Specialty Designer Series Paper, Love Impressions.

 

This entire box is created with paper only.  Even the "X" and "o" are cut and punched from the same designer paper.  And rhinestone was added to the center of the heart.

Freebie Friday - Embellished Paper Clips

This tutorial has been one of our most popular and could it be because of these cute little embellished paperclips?  We've had several ask about them so today we are sharing with you how quick and easy it is to put these together.

 

Gather your supplies.  Decide on your paper (card stock or patterned paper), the punch or die cut you want to use and glue dots. (You can use many other things but for this example, we are using punched flowers.) 

 

For our example, we used a card stock flower on the back and a patterned paper flower on the front.  Place the card stock flower on the back of the paper clip with a glue dot. (You may need to use more than one.) 

 
 

Then use another glue dot to place the "front" flower on top of the paper clip lined up with the back flower.  You can, of course, layer these flowers or add other embellishments.

 
And that's it.  What a great gift idea!  These are great for any occasion so you might want to try some heart embellished paper clips.  You can see a couple of other ideas for embellished paper clips here and here.

Fabric Heart Card

The new SU! fabrics are fun to use and have coordinating Designer Series paper.  If you haven't tried them because you aren't a seamstress, why not try the idea below.

We created this card by first tracing a heart pattern on Very Vanilla card stock, adhered the fabric and cut out.  Even this fabric-covered heart was sponged with Creamy Caramel.  Rose Red grosgrain ribbon was used to make the bow and it was embellished with a pearl.

 

The inside of the card also has a fabric covered heart that was first punched out using the Full Heart punch and then covered with fabric.

 

Supplies:

• Very Vanilla Card Stock
• Fabric - Springtime Vintage
• Basic Pearls
• Rose Red grosgrain ribbon, crochet trim
