Yesterday we used this template as a briefcase but today we wanted to do something a little more summery (is that a word)... kind of beachy! If you don't own this Sizzix Scoreboard die, you can purchase the die cuts in multiples of six for $5.00 here . The die cuts are cut from lightweight cardboard/chipboard. They are easily covered with card stock or DSP.
These holders would be a fun gift for the girls who are going to convention. They will hold small items like chocolate, lip gloss, post-it notes, etc. The size is 3-5/8" x 2-1/4" and approximately 1/2" deep.
This tropical holder is made with the new DSP, Island Oasis, found in the Summer Mini Catalog. The "bag" has been embellished with turquoise grosgrain ribbon, a small chipboard flower and a jumbo white brad. This bag is held closed with a small piece of velcro.
First cover the chipboard die cut with your choice of DSP or card stock. We used a glue stick to adhere the DSP to the chipboard.
Next, trim off any extra DSP and punch the holes in the DSP to match the die.
We then folded the die on all the score lines.
This holder can be held together with brads only but we liked the extra strength of using sticky strip. By doing it this way, the "legs" of the brads don't show on the inside of the box.
We just put a small piece of sticky strip on these 2 areas.
We folded up and glued the box together. There are many different ways to attach the ribbon but this time we put a piece of sticky strip across the entire inside so that it left it clean and finished. We used about 11" of ribbon - this is your personal preference.
We attached the brad and flower with a large 3-D glue dot which finishes up our gift card holder. Order today and get started on your own gift card holders, business card holders, candy holders.....you get the idea....for any occasion. We all really should be working on Christmas:):):)
