Mojo Monday 127 and Color Throwdown 81

I decided if I was going to do a card for one challenge, why not make it work for two.....especially when one of them includes pink and brown.  Most of you know I LOVE pink and brown together.  If you've taken classes at my house or done a swap with me, you've probably made or received more than one pink and brown card.

This is my first time doing either of these challenges - Mojo Monday 127 and Color Throwdown 81.  My card is made with Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White card stock.  The packages are from the Happy Moments stamp set - one of the stamp sets you can get for free during Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration.

The packages are colored with a blender pen and Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive ink.  The ribbon is Old Olive grosgrain.  Notice the 1/4" circles punched out of Chocolate Chip card stock?  I used some of the tiniest eyelets you could every imagine.  They are pink and you have to set them with a writing pen.  I've had them forever and just decided I needed to use all this fun stuff and quit collecting.

 

Inspiration Challenge - PPA31

For today's challenge at Pals Paper Arts, they have an inspiration challenge.  The cool thing about this challenge is that it's meant to be just an inspiration.  It's all about letting the colors and designs inspire you.

My card uses Old Olive, Rose Red and Whisper White card stock.  The DSP is called Tall Tales.  For the "birds," I simply punched out this group of friends and layered it, along with another 1-3/4" circle, on one of our die cut scallops.  The grosgrain ribbon is Chocolate Chip and Rose Red.  Today, I simply tied the ribbon bow with natural hemp.  No button, can you believe it!!  I wanted the look of simplicity.  Make it a great day!

  
 
 

Big Shot Wednesday - Week #4 Mini Milk Carton

Wow, can you believe February is almost gone!  That means not only is it almost time for next month's Big Shot projects, but Spring is just around the corner.  Yeah!!

For the final mini milk carton project, we chose to create a mini crate to hold three of our mini milk cartons.  This mini crate was made with pieces of craft sticks found at the local craft store.  They were cut to the size needed - approximately 5-7/8" x 2-1/4" - and stained.  The crate was put together with hot glue.  We twisted wire and attached to the sides to create the handle.

 How cute is this little crate with the mini milk cartons!!  The cartons were made with Almost Amethyst and So Saffron card stock.  The scallop circle around the top of each carton is made with the Tea Party DSP.  A small tag with "happy easter" is stamped on So Saffron, punched with the large oval, then layered on Almost Amethyst  and punched with the Scallop Oval.  The "happy easter" is from "A Good Egg" stamp set found on page 46 in the main Stampin' Up catalog.  The Almost Amethyst flower is one of the flowers from the Trio Flower punch and the center is a yellow rhinestone brad.

  

Fun with Fabric Flowers

Today we are sharing a really fun project we created for our Two Paper Divas' website.  This is just one more idea for all those "padded" flowers we have all been making with our Big Shot and dies.  If any of you have missed out on this "rage" - these are made with 2 pieces of fabric with batting in between - NO sewing.  You can view a FREE tutorial here on Two Paper Divas  website on how to make these fun, cute flower decorations!

Thank You Card

This card style is made by cutting your card stock 4-1/4" x 11" and then scoring at 5-1/2".  Fold the card stock in half and with the fold at the bottom, turn down a "flap" - you decide how big.  The sides are glued together BUT make sure you don't glue in too far, you want to be able to slide the inside piece in and out easily.

This card is made with Shimmer White, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black card stock.  The Designer Series Paper is Sending Love.  The Extra Large Fancy Flower, Curly Label, Trio Flowers and the 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" circle punches are used. 

The left side is glued together but three flowers are glued down the side and a 1/8" hole is punched in the center and 1/4" Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon is tied through each flower.

PPA30 - KISS

Here is my card for this week's PPA Challenge.  This is a 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" square card.  I don't make these often but I do love them.  This card uses Whisper White and Bermuda Bay card stock.  The white has been embossed with a polka dot embossing folder.  The flowers are from the Happy Moments Sale-a-Bration set.  They were stamped in black and them the flower "parts" were stamped on Bermuda Bay DSP and cut out.  A Certainly Celery marker was used for the leaves and stems. 

The card is embellished with Bermuda Bay Polka Dot ribbon and two of the corners have been paper pierced.  The layer has been sponged with Bermuda Bay slightly. 

 

  

Pals Paper Arts Weekly Challenge - PPA30-KISS

This week the girls decided to "Keep It Simple, Sweetie", KISS.  Some guidlelines were lots of white space, quick, clean and not to many layers and embellishments.  So here's my card.

Embossing folder and border punch from Stampin' Up!  a tiny bit of twine and 1 button.  :)

 

Friend to Friend Card - SCCSC4 SU! Weekly Challenge

My good friend and fellow stampin' buddy Diane sent me the information today for a new challenge.  She participates on a team of designers on the new Stampin' Connections forum sponsored by Stampin' Up! (for demonstrators only).  The sketch challenge looked fun so I gave it a whirl.

The card is Pretty In Pink and measures 5x5.  I layered the card with Pawsitively Print DSP and cut the scallop circle from the DSP which is the flip side of the pink plaid.  I stamped "friend to friend" on the DSP as well.  The ribbon is Pretty in Pink Taffeta and the brad is a 5/16" vanilla jumbo brad. The flower was created using pages from an old book.  There are 5 scallop circles layered on top of each other and scrunched. A button was added for the center.

 

Big Shot Wednesday - Week #3 Mini Milk Carton

For this week's Big Shot Wednesday post, we are thinking Spring and Easter.  We created the mini milk carton using acetate.  The box is filled with shredded paper and Easter candy.  The top is held closed with the small clothes pin that has been embellished with one of the small flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch.  The ribbon is from the "Ribbon Originals" Elementary group that can be found on page 182 of the Stampin' Up catalog. 

These would "dress up" your Easter table.  You could even use them as place cards by attaching a name tag in the clothespin.

These two hanging "signs" are made exactly like the "Joy" made on December 15th .  The step-by-step directions can be found on that post.  These two were made with paper and embellishments from the Simply Scrappin' Kit, Love Sparkles, as well as the Heart Sweet Treat Cups. We hope you all are enjoying a great Valentine's Day.
