I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful weekend here in Kansas and we enjoyed every minute, from family, good food and even a state championship football game. The Gardner Trailblazers played in the state championship game on Saturday in Emporia, Kansas against Hutchinson. We were both 12 - 0 for the season. We didn't walk away with the win but we played hard and are very proud to say that we are 2nd in the state of Kansas! Go, Blazers!!!
Now with Thanksgiving behind us, it's time to move on to Christmas. As soon as Thanksgiving was over, I began removing the fall decorations and started putting up Christmas. I hold my team's annual Christmas party and it's this Saturday!! So, needless to say, I had to get busy. One of the new items I made this year was a Buttons & Bling Tree. Here are the early makings of my tree.
I started with a styrofoam tree, lots of punches, Baja Breeze and Soft Sky card stock, (both of which are my favorite of the retired colors and match my home decor nicely) buttons, stars, sequins, bells, and Brushed Silver stars.
Here is a close up of the tree. I used both regular straight pins and ones that had pearl ends to secure all the pieces. Tombow glue was used to adhere the buttons. Silver cord was tied in bows on the bells and then they were also secured with a straight pin. Lots of pieces, lots of work but I think it turned out very pretty. It's really sparkly in person.
Have you ever made something special and then struggled to find it's home -- move it here; nope, like it better there; well, maybe it should go here; well, that was me. I couldn't decide where would be the best place to put my newest addition but, after moving it several times I finally settled on the perfect spot.
If you decide to make a Buttons & Bling Tree for your home, we'd love to see your creation! Thanks for stopping by.
