September seems to be a transition month for us. It is time for back-to-school, football, and fall is fast approaching. While it isn't quite time for the holidays, you will see that we will sneak Halloween and Christmas in because we just can't help it. There is so much to show and share. So, be ready for anything.
This fun purse gift card holder could be done in school colors for a college student headed off to school. After all, they will need things for their dorm rooms, gas, fast food, etc. Those of you with students don't need me to list all the possibilities! Since Melissa and I root for two different colleges and I don't want to start a rivalry, (at least not yet:)) I stuck with the much safer birthday theme.
I used the Simply Scrappin' kit, Happy B-day, found on page 166 in the current catalog. These kits come with fun adhesive die cuts along with card stock and DSP so you can put these together very quickly. Below you will see one as a gift card holder and one as a party invitation.
The gift card holder itself, is actually a clear envelope cut down to 2 inches. The invitation is one of the die cuts from the kit. I have attached the pattern for the purse and a diagram of how the top note die is scored. View this photo
If you come up with some fun ideas, please share them with us. I think these could be "tweaked" and you could come up with a witch's bag/purse for a Halloween invitation. I told you, I'm ready for the holidays!
